Prominent nutrition interventions in emergency settings include general food distribution (GFD) rations and Ready-To-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), which is an “energy-dense, micronutrient-rich paste used in therapeutic feeding.” Due to a lack of RUFTs,  lipid-based supplements, and fortified options, this food package is consistent with items that approximate the nutrition and energy requirements of a well-balanced diet for the recipient population. Also factored in are dietary considerations, environmental conditions, familiarity with a food item, storage specifications, and food processing and preparation in the design of the packages.
Please fill out our beneficiary form and donate a package if you wish to support specific beneficiaries or families in Afghanistan, and our team will deliver it to them promptly.
